Iernut Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) factory project

As part of the Iernut Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) factory project in Romania, Eastship provided autoclave transport and on-site logistics services for seven industrial autoclaves in 2024.

The seven autoclaves were transported over a distance exceeding 700 kilometres as part of the logistics requirements for the new AAC production facility.

Each autoclave measured

• 24 meters in length,

• 3.3 meters in height,

• 3 meters in width,

• weighed 45 tons.

  
  

Autoclave Transport

The transportation of the 45-tonne autoclaves required careful planning and coordination due to their dimensions and weight. Eastship managed the heavy haulage and oversize transport operations, including the transportation of the autoclaves to the project site.

The project required an integrated project logistics approach, combining long-distance heavy transport with specialised on-site handling and positioning.

On-Site Logistics and Heavy Equipment Movement

Once at the beneficiary's premises, Eastship was also responsible for the internal movement and positioning of the autoclaves.

Due to the specific site conditions and positioning requirements, our engineering team developed a tailor-made heavy-load transport system. The solution included custom-designed and manufactured trolleys, each engineered to support a 45-tonne load, together with a temporary rail system.

The autoclaves were carefully positioned onto the tailor-made trolleys and moved along the designated routes using a specialised pulling system engineered and operated by our crew.

This approach allowed the heavy equipment to be moved in a controlled manner while maintaining the required positioning accuracy throughout the operation.

The operation required coordination between engineering, heavy equipment handling, on-site logistics and positioning teams.
